Ilse is a northern New Mexico native, and was raised in the foothills of Taos. She has been serving New Mexicans in the fields of addiction, trauma and mood disorders since 2007.

Ilse studied psychology at Pitzer College in Claremont, CA, counseling at the University of New Mexico, and then began an internship with The Evolution Group where she has worked ever since.

Ilse’s clinical work focuses on trauma recovery, disordered eating/body image challenges, anxiety, anger, depression and substance use. As a trauma-informed yoga teacher and practitioner, Ilse is aware of the deeply important role that physical health and wellbeing plays in the recovery process from mental and emotional challenges. She meets her clients with a strength-based approach and believes each person to be fully capable of finding their way back to health, happiness and self-empowerment. Most recently, Ilse began working as part of a disaster response team, traveling to provide mental health first aid using the RTM protocol.

In her free time, Ilse watches her son breakdance, chases after her dog, practices yoga, reads horror novels and buys way more houseplants than she needs.
