My name is Marissa Anderson-Botello, and I am an Intern here at the Evolution Group. I believe therapy is a labor of love and collaboration where honoring agency, self-determination and safety is foundational.

I was born in Fresno, CA and grew up in the Bay Area. Most of my work before coming back to school to complete a Master’s degree at UNM was in advocacy, crisis intervention, community work, and restorative justice centered care for survivors of Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, and Trafficking. I believe that community, liberation, and tools to navigate our lived + generational traumas can unlock a lot of the harm we carry with us.

In session, I utilize a person centered and anti-oppression approach to help you navigate your own truths. I love working with folks of all cultures, genders, and ages! I also enjoy working with couples and families. Seeking therapy is deeply self-reflective, vulnerable and courageous! I hope wherever you decide to receive care, you give yourself some credit for stepping into that power <3
