As both a therapist and a new mom, I\u2019ve been on the hunt for tools that actually work to calm, ground, and connect with my little one. Parenting<\/a> is full of those moments – big feelings, meltdowns, transitions – where you just need something simple, effective, and nurturing. That\u2019s where <\/span>The Happy Song<\/span><\/i> by Imogen Heap<\/span><\/a> has been such a gift in my own parenting journey.<\/span><\/p>\n

I was asked by one of my clients if I knew and had heard of \u201c<\/span>the happy song<\/span><\/i>\u201d. I hadn\u2019t and honestly had some curiosity about this and looked it up. I added it to my song library and that was that, until recently my 10 month old, one day while we were driving home with a lot of traffic, was having a hard time in the backseat crying\u2026 well I pulled up this little song and this has been a game changer since. Within seconds, my baby\u2019s mood shifted, she was calm, listening to the song while we finished our drive home, and it helped her change her mood\/get us home.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since this event, it has been interesting when playing this song, watching her mood change, her smile, wiggle, and light up is pretty incredible to see and witness coming from a full meltdown to calm. Even in the wee hours of the morning when nothing has been able to console my little one, this song has been helpful to even play in the background to help ground her, help her reset, and then be able to fall back asleep. There are two versions of this song, the original with words and the other an instrumental version. A Song Made <\/b>for<\/i><\/b> Babies<\/b><\/p>\n

What makes this song unique is that it wasn\u2019t just written – it was researched. Imogen Heap teamed up with psychologists and researchers to figure out what sounds, rhythms, and tones spark joy in babies. The result was something upbeat, playful, and full of sounds kids naturally love (think giggles, \u201cbeep beep’s”, animal noises).<\/span><\/p>\n
