The Evolution Group, Inc.
has a specialized Gambling Treatment Clinic open since July, 2002. All of our treatment
interventions begin with a comprehensive assessment in order
to determine the needed level of care and to design an individually
tailored plan for recovery.
The Compulsive Gambler is viewed
within the context of cultural origin, family constellation,
financial factors and level of functioning.
We see the compulsive gambler
as a person, human and unique, and who is struggling and out
of balance.
The view we take of our clients
is one of compassion and unconditional humanistic and positive
regard. The quality of the connection we endeavor to make with
the client and the resulting therapeutic relationship is of utmost
importance.
The Gambling Treatment Clinic
takes a wellness approach that incorporates family members, financial
management, and recovery of integrity. These approaches include
cognitive-behavioral therapy; harm reduction; financial counseling;
motivational interviewing; individual and group therapy; encouragement
of participation in community support groups (i.e., Gamblers
Anonymous, Gam-Anon, etc.); pharmacology; and acupuncture.
We see compulsive gamblers
in group, individual, family, and couple modalities. We also
utilize a financial consultant who specializes in working with
problem gamblers and/or their family members.
We often work with the family
members of compulsive gamblers to augment treatment, to assist
with the issues they are dealing with as a result of the impact
compulsive gambling has on the family, and/or to design effective
interventions that might potentiate a compulsive gambler to seek
help by entering treatment.
We have specialized tracks
within the clinic for men, women, Spanish speaking individuals,
Native Americans, veterans, and gay and lesbian clients.

Commonly
Asked Questions:
What if I don't want anyone
to know that I have a gambling problem?
Our services are completely confidential. Your identity will
be strictly protected and kept private.
What if I am not ready to
quit gambling but want to seek help anyway?
This is very common among gamblers at first. After we assess
your situation with you, we will develop a treatment plan that
we have collaborated and agree on. Some people want to minimize
the harm they can do when gambling. Often want to quit - the
choice will always be yours.
I don't have a problem with
gambling but my family member does. What can I do?
We often help family members plan strategic intervention that
potentiate internal motivation for change. Even if the gambler
won't change, getting help for family members can really help. |
